UK-born, Annie moved to San Francisco in 1995 and developed her first garden - an acre of public land in the heart of the city - with her husband, Matt Petty, in 2008.

Having gone on to design multiple award-winning public spaces built on a low water ideology, finding the plants that don’t just survive, but thrive in dry climates is her idea of fun. Creating a coherent rhythm in plant shape, color and texture is the foundation of her designs, and she’s always delighted to help people learn about gardening, landscape design and how to propagate plants.

Having guided thousands of volunteers to create community gardens in San Francisco, she’s passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping people make flourishing gardens in our gorgeous Mediterranean climate.
